While the hotel services were reduced during the holiday period, we had no problems checking in using Agoda and were received quickly and promptly.
The balcony was excellent with a view over the Promenade and water. The only downside was the condition of the flooring, bathroom, overall furnishing. The furnishings were well used, not run-down, but well used. Apartment style. We enjoyed our stay at Aquarius On The Beach. The rooms although not luxurious were more than adequate and the service was fine.
Only disadvantage about re-booking at this hotel was the car parking. The carpark was always full and we had to park our car out on the street in front of the hotel. I wouldn't have been happy to pay the full price but with a good deal this place amounts to a fine option. It isn't fancy but it does have a comfortable configuration, access to kitchenette microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge etc, , a comfortable bed and seating area and it has a great view from every room.

I couldn't hear my neighbours at all. I found my room clean and staff kept it that way. Location on the Strand was great but the hotel is pretty dated, and hotel staff was ok.. I always stay here when im in Townsville as its the best location with stunning views and nice restaurants nearby. We arrived very late about 11pm and we were looked after a man who may have been the owner!
And i was excited that we were on the 7th floor. The room was clean and modern and had a kitchenette, bath and a balcony! The view of the lights was spectacular. I'll never forget waking early and having to sit out on the balcony to watch the sun rise. Later, after a little more sleep, I sat on the balcony to watch a ski race and the stunt plane. It was all just magic. Also I noticed that it was very quiet in our room. I could not hear other guests. Great location on strand ,walk to restaurants ,beach, beautiful views from room, away from business area.
Only 5 min by taxi to airport and SeaLink to Magnetic Island. The room is small but the view was spectacular. The staff were just incredible. Everyone at the front desk and the room attendants were so helpful and friendly. This is one of the friendliest and happiest work places I have ever stayed in and I am so pleased it is in my own country.
Well done to the Management for ensuring all your staff are happy and content. It makes a huge difference on the level of service.

We loved our stay at Aquarius. Perfect location and sensational view. A great place to stay. Although its a bit of an eyesore on the beach front it is in a great location. Large comfortable rooms, with mini kitchen.

Good sized bathroom. Very clean. Great location, the only problem is lack of inside parking. This hotel has the best views. Great to have a kitchenette. Bed is super comfy but some of the furniture looks like it's been bought from a 2nd hand shop. Very clean though. Jen in reception goes above and beyond her duties. She's a true asset to the hotel.
