You would have noticed that there where other smoke detectors throughout the cabin but it was the hole that was the issue. This has been fixed. You were staying in a 40 year old cabin but again that was your choice as you could see there where much better cabins available so of course the cabin has a lot of wear. You would have been very aware where the highway is as it has been there for many years and you can see the sound abatement barriers well before you enter the park. As far as our pricing goes again you chose the cheapest option expecting something much better We wish you well in your travels and just a thought We stayed in chalet 39 which was very clean, very quiet, with a comfy bed and good amenities.

Our site was opposite the sewerage treatment works but we didn't notice any smell, just ugly. Beautiful blue river shown on the internet is actually brown and there is no access from the park unless you have ropes and climbing gear to get down the 20 metre cliff! I got the impression that the owners did not really care if tourists stayed or not. The grounds are very poorly kept and the amenities although old are quite clean. Interesting that the amenities are cleaned around 9 am when most people need them, unfortunately the second amenities block is closed.

Also for being a 20 meter cliff to the river did you actually bother to look down near the boat ramp or just make an assumption that there was no access. Yes our cleaners do the ablution blocks from 9. We have a very small amount of powered sites and we keep them very well presented and yes we are situated next to a very busy highway which you would have realised when you were checking in.

The amenities are clean, a lot of the permanent residents are very friendly and helpful! Overall an alright stay but the receptionists attitude toward us drags down the review.
